Driving Poor

It seem as though drivers get worse everyday; today I almost hit two cars on the way home.

As I'm coming up on exit 93 for I-96/69 One woman pulled out of Speedway without looking, I honked and swerved and just as I was recovering from that near-disaster I come upon a white sedan that was changing lanes (right lane to left lane). For some fucking reason, she hesitated and switched back into the right lane as I was passing by. Both were old women, just saying.

Another habit of drivers I've noticed recently is improper use of the center lane. When a driver is too impatient to wait for traffic to clear for a left turn, he or she will turn left into the center lane and then merge or stop until the traffic clears. This is illegal in Michigan and it bugs me whenever someone does it -- a few times I've almost gotten into accidents because someone tries to go into the center lane from the wrong direction and I'm trying to use it properly. Michigan code says:

(a) A vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practicable entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from the lane until the driver has first ascertained that the movement can be made with safety. Upon a roadway with 4 or more lanes which provides for 2-way movement of traffic, a vehicle shall be driven within the extreme right-hand lane except when overtaking and passing, but shall not cross the center line of the roadway except where making a left turn.

(b) Upon a roadway which is divided into 3 lanes and provides for 2-way movement of traffic, a vehicle shall not be driven in the center lane except when overtaking and passing another vehicle traveling in the same direction, when the center lane is clear of traffic within a safe distance, or in preparation for a left turn, or where the center lane is at the time allocated exclusively to traffic moving in the same direction the vehicle is proceeding and the allocation is designated by official traffic control devices.

I did not know that 3-lane roads allowed passing in the center lane. I wasn't sure if turning left into the center lane was okay, which it isn't. I've noticed more and more people doing it, I wish it would stop. Can't you just turn normally? It doesn't inconvenience me, but I feel as though an injustice occurs when I see it happening. I'm using the center lane correctly but these fucks get away with it?!
